What are we thinking? I must explain that I am a product of the 60's and around when the feminist movement was going strong. We didn't want to be questioned on job interviews about pregnacy, who will care for the kids, what happens if husband is transferred etc. Now I see "women" asking those types of questions to Sara Palin! News women who must not have encountered the issues I did when I tried getting a job right out of college. They benefited from our trials and suffering and now are dishing it out to "women". It boggles the mind how we think this is right. Forget fair - it is beyond the bounds of fair. I even hear the "men" coming to Sara Palin's defense - not the women! Women who defend the right to choice but belittle Palin for making a choice. Women who are critical of her "mothering skills" yet have never been held under the limelight for their choices.
Yes, I must say I am mystified and rather ashamed of us! We must think we are defending the right to choice but are losing so many other rights in the process. Sara Palin should only be held accountable for her public political accomplishments, not her personal private life.
The women of this generation have not learned the art of teaming as a political force or any force. I believe I have said it before that too many women are vindictive and hateful to each other which will only work against us and lead us backwards in the women's rights issues and not forward.
